MB ChB Bristol 1997 DRCOG MRCGP MRCP (UK)
I have been a GP at Lander Practice since 2005. I enjoy all aspect of General Practice, including training Doctors and students for the future.
I particularly value involving patients in their healthcare decisions and would like to see more active patient involvement across healthcare in general.
Outside medicine I enjoy swimming competitively for Cornwall, running the Cornish footpaths with my black retriever, surfing on the north coast and playing Abba songs on the piano. I have an amazing wife and six fantastic children.
MBBS 2002 (London) NMRCGP 2009
MBChB, MRCGP, DFFP, PG (cert)
I trained and then qualified in South Africa in 1993, and have been living in the UK (mostly in Cornwall) since 1995. I joined the Lander Medical Practice in 2011 where I enjoy treating patients of all ages.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my dogs, reading and fair weather cycling.
MB ChB (2006, Cardiff) nMRCGP 2011
I was lucky enough to grow up in Cornwall and went to Truro School. In 1999 I left the county behind to study Medicine in Cardiff, eventually returning to my home Town in 2008 to undertake GP training. I completed the GP training scheme in 2011 and after a period of time as a locum in various practices throughout Cornwall joined the Partnership here at the Lander Medical Practice in 2012 and I've not looked back since! I enjoy all aspects of providing Primary Care and have an interest in joint and soft tissue injections. Away from the Practice I enjoy spending time with my wife and our 5-yr old Son Oscar, who certainly keeps me busy! I am a keen motorsport enthusiast and also follow the trials and tribulations of Aston Villa, for better or worse...
I consider it an absolute honour and privilege to be a GP here in Truro and I really enjoy my job helping to look after you all.
MBBS Lond 1989 MRCP (UK)
MB ChB 1990 MRCGP MRCP (UK) MRCGP
MB ChB 2001 MRCGP DRCOG DFFP
I have worked as a GP since 2007, initially at the Clays Practice and more recently at Lander Practice.
I will be working 4 days a week at Lander. In addition to this work I maintain an interest in Rheumatology, and will be taking on some of the minor surgery work when Dr Paynter retires in October.
I represent Lander at the regular Carrick locality meetings - a group of 10 GP practices.
Once a month I head to St. Austell to meet GP's from around the county at the Clinical Leadership Group.
These are good opportunities to share best practice, stay up to date with the direction of primary care and the problems faced about Cornwall.
I am proud to be a Truronian and enjoy living and working in the city.
I am happily married with three children.
Our little city faces new challenges with it's growth in population.
I am interested in making our society a sustainable.<span style="font-family:
Bsc MBBS 1992 MRCP MRCGP
I was born the week hey Jude was released! My school projects were about space, then fish and then brains.
I trained in Neurology before moving across to General Practice, though I still work as a specialist on Wednesdays. I worked in Afghanistan for a year before moving to Cornwall for Medecins Sans Frontieres and may return to this work after retirement.
I have twin daughters who make sure that any rest at home is kept to a minimum.
Sports are still a relaxation, mainly in the form of squash, cricket and running.
